In 1998, Jonathon and his soon to be wife Tori, began work on a three acre parcel of land that was once the Matzke dairy farm. The piece of land included an old farm house (circa 1900), uninhabited since the 1960’s, three barns and numerous outbuildings. The process included all you could imagine for a home vacant for nearly 40 years. Four months of hard clean up; trees, limbs, fences, junk, lots of junk. Then the electrical, plumbing, insulation, HVAC, cabinetry, flooring and window restoration, painting, roof and more, and more and more. There is always something left to do, but for the most part, the project has been completed. In today’s age of throw away and start over, Jonathon has combated this norm with hard work and determination, he has preserved a piece of history.
