Jonathon grew up in the Pacific Northwest with his parents and three younger brothers. His interest in the craft began at an early age while working along side his grandfather during family vacations to California. By age 10, he began making doghouses, planter tubs, gocarts and tree forts. Jonathon’s family moved to Houston in 1988 where he was fortunate to attend Cypress-Fairbanks High School; well known for its renowned Industrial Technology program led by teacher Larry Carlton. Jonathon received numerous “Best in State” awards for his custom designed furniture. By graduation, he was privileged to receive the Stanley “Golden Hammer” award for his achievements. Jonathon received a degree in Business from Texas State University in 1995. While attending college, Jonathon was able to fully renovate a custom coach bus conversion. He had an incredible opportunity to learn from a successful mentor many things related to the craft, business and life. His appreciation for hand-crafted furniture and cabinetry intensified over time and his experience and discussions with his mentor led him to seriously consider the idea of becoming a furniture maker. In 1996, Jonathon took the plunge and has since dedicated himself full-time to furniture making. He works closely with individuals, as well as interior designers, decorators, architects and custom estate home builders. His works range from small exquisite jewelry boxes to high-end custom kitchens and media rooms. |
